Collection: Black Cottage

Black Cottage , named after founder David Clouston and winemaker Sanna Stander's charming black wooden house, is set amongst vineyards, native plantings, olive groves and a cricket pitch in the Wairau Valley sub-region of the Marlborough region. In addition to Black Cottage, it also belongs to the Two Rivers family winery , which is located in the Southern Valleys subregion.

David Clouston grew up in Marlborough and spent his youth in the Wairau and Awatere river valleys, where his family has farmed for five generations. He spent three seasons in Corsica, where he fell under the spell of rosé wine.
Rosé from Two Rivers Vineyard is a bold, dry and lively salmon colored wine.
Black Cottage/Two Rivers wines reflect the elegance, purity and intense fruit flavors typical of the Marlborough region. The vineyards are spread over the clay soils of the Brookby Hill Vineyard in the Southern Valleys sub-region.
The winery has made sustainability a goal in everything they do. On their vineyards in Marlborough, they support biodiversity, increase habitat for native birds and improve soil health. They are also part of the Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand program .
