2021 was an excellent year in Nelson, following on from some excellent previous years. The grapes come from Rabbit Island and Brightwater vineyards that are over thirty years old. Rabbit Island Vineyard is located on a wide river floodplain. The soil is sandy loam and well permeable. These vineyards are located about 1.5 kilometers from the sea, which helps to moderate the temperatures. The wine has a rich and distinctive aroma with notes of dark fruit, coffee and dried herbs. The taste is rich with a generous content of tannins. A long and warm aftertaste persists.
